EiB’s Strategic Work Winning Team, led by Scott Brown and including Phil Jagger, Keith Devlin, Rob Fuller, Georgina Dawson and Ellie Parker, have helped Amey Highways secure Highways England’s 15 year £325m Area 10 Asset Support Contract for Maintenance and Response in the North West. Area 10’s major road network serves the North West of England, connecting Manchester and Liverpool as well as surrounding areas.
Beginning in April 2019, Amey will provide routine and cyclic maintenance, to the motorway and trunk road network around Cheshire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester and South Lancashire. They will take responsibility over incident response, defect rectification and severe weather treatment, as well as control of traffic management during incidents. They will support the Network from their five main regional depots; and seven winter-only depots.
This win means EiB have helped Amey add to their 15 year £300m Area 7 contract in the East Midlands, which EiB also helped secure. Thanks to wins like this, Amey maintain and grow their presence across the UK’s highways market; building on their contracts in Scotland and for design services in Areas 13 and 14.
Nick Harris, Highways England’s executive director of operations, said: “we are delighted to welcome Amey to our North West Asset Delivery supply chain community and look forward to establishing a successful, long-term relationship with them”.
EiB Group Chief Executive Scott Brown said: “I am really proud of how our team worked, as part of an exceptional integrated bid team with Amey, to build a solution that addresses the needs of road users across the North West. This brings the total contract earnings for our clients to over £3Bn this year”.
