EiB are very pleased to have helped Balfour Beatty Living Places (BBLP) secure the £103m Highways maintenance contract for Telford & Wrekin Council, with delivery of the service about to commence on the 1stof April. Our Strategic Work Winning Director, Richard Roddie, provided guidance, challenge and writing expertise to help raise the standard of the quality submission throughout the tendering process, working closely with the BBLP Bid Director and Bid Manager. Richard said“it was great to work as a member of the BBLP team and for EiB to have played a part in securing this local authority contract. The quality bid was of a very high standard and a lot of time and effort went into demonstrating BBLP’s capability and winning delivery solution”.
The contract will run for seven years and could be extended for a further seven in one-year increments. As part of the contract, BBLP will manage 626 miles of highways and 743 miles of footpaths, provide drainage services, winter services and general reactive maintenance, saving the council approximately £200,000 a year. BBLP will also help deliver Telford & Wrekin Council’s £20m capital investment programme in its highways network and other transport projects over the next two years.
BBLP Managing Director, Steve Helliwell, said:“we are delighted to have been awarded this contract by Telford & Wrekin Council; it builds on our trusted expertise in highways services. We look forward to working closely with the Council and the local community to deliver tangible improvements across the Borough”.
