Glan Agua Farrans JV (GAFJV) awarded HS2 Process and Network Modifications Frameworks for Affinity Water with a total estimated value of £29 million
EiB’s Strategic Work Winning Team, led by Richard Roddie, is delighted to have played its part in helping the GAFJV secure Lots 2 and 3 of the HS2 Process and Network Modifications Frameworks for Affinity Water.
Valued at £29m, Lot 2 includes the design and installation of modifications of up to five treatment sites, primarily to deal with the risk of increased levels of chalk turbidity as a result of HS2 construction bisecting Affinity Water’s supply area. Lot 3 specifies the design and installation of modifications of up to two existing groundwater abstraction sites.
Affinity Water is the largest water-only supplier in the UK, providing 900 million litres of water each day to more than 3.5 million people across Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Surrey, the London Boroughs of Harrow and Hillingdon and parts of the Boroughs of Barnet, Brent, Ealing and Enfield.
Karl Zimmerer, Glan Agua’s MD, said, “Glan Agua is extremely proud of the award of this contract and it marks a significant step for growth ambitions for the UK. We understand how crucial this project is for Affinity Water and HS2 Ltd and believe that collaboration will be key to achieving the successful delivery of the framework objectives”.
With regard to our support, Paul Gardner, UK Operations Director at Glan Agua, said “EiB provided us with valuable support throughout the tendering process for this key project. Richard and his team worked closely with both organisations to ensure that our message to the client was congruent, effective and demonstrated the collective experience held by our JV. I look forward to working with EiB on future bids and I’m certain they will add significant value to our business as a partner going forward”.
